The process or journey to freedom…..
So far I have described the journey as a process of learning about the interplay between our Circumstances, our Soul and the Spiritual realm. I have described how strongholds arise when our circumstances cause us to believe a lie and respond with our will. Up until this point I have focused on the interaction between circumstances and our soul. In the next post, I will begin to address some issues dealing with the spiritual realm, but I want to make one more point before we cover that part of the journey. One simple, but important point.
Satan gained control of our planet in the Garden of Eden. HOW he did that is important to understand.
When Adam and Eve consumed the fruit from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, THEIR knowledge became their source of truth. Let me state that one other way. Their senses became the channel, or perceptual mechanism by which they took in information, therefore their senses became the way they defined TRUTH.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Bottom line, this means that Satan maintains his control over this age when men live by sight. Satan has at least enough input into our “sight” that he uses this to influence our thoughts, our decisions and especially our beliefs. When we read about Adam and Eve, we read about us. As long as our reality is defined only by what our senses and our speculations tell us, then the god of this world is the primary programmer of our minds.
When we read the “the righteous live by faith”, it does not mean that we should try harder to believe so that we can live righteously. It means that we must have another means of taking in reality so that we will not be deceived about God’s definitions and declarations of reality.
Dear God, please open up the eyes of our hearts and give to us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation….
